Sugar Honey Iced Tea!

I watched Madagascar last night for the 100th time and caught a line that I'd missed the previous 99 viewings. Marty's running down the beach to greet Alex after they realize everyone's ok, and Alex is "less than happy' with Marty. Marty proceeds to turn, run the other way, and yell my new favorite line in the movie. "Sugar Honey Iced Tea!" It took me a minute or 5 to realize what the hell he said and why. Once I got the joke, I paused the movie, laughed for a while, rewound the movie, watched it again, and laughed at it all over again. Priceless.

See, that was a cheery intro to avoid the topic of my LACK of posts in recent days/weeks. The truth is that I've been working the good ole' Dolly Parton shift (9 to 5) at Brick Oven the last few weeks, and regrettably, we don't exactly have a computer with internet access on hand in our restauraunt. If we did, I'd probably get fired because there's no one there that could pull this 6'5" 250+ lb guy away from it. Don't fret, though. The Summer II term starts in another week, so I will conveniently be on campus everyday, and you know what that means. You guessed it....tons of posts that, due to my pitiful existence, are sadly devoid of any excitement.

What's new with me? Nothing really. Working a shit-ton. Not getting to play as much as I'd like. I DID get to go canoeing two weeks ago. It was pretty fun. I laughed. I drank. I took several pictures with the fellas. I took a picture of Travis and girl in a bikini. I got a 3/4 full beer heaved at me from approximately 6 feet away. Luckily, it bounced harmlessly off of my forehead. More on this later.

Lauren's employer planned a company picnic at Wild River Country last weekend, and I was invited. Hooray! Also noteworthy, it was only $5 per ticket. Double hooray! We load up 7 people into 1 Durango and head to the water park. After arriving at noon and discovering that a regularly priced ticket was $27, we made our way to the pavilion that housed the picnic. Surprising to ONLY me, the picnic had been catered by some BBQ place. Yummmmm!
Needless to say, Daddy had a bite to eat. After lunch, we unleashed ourselves on the rides. Good times all day. >>Fast forward>> to approximately 6:15. The skies fill with clouds and thunder claps. "Well, I guess it's time to go home," I say. "Rain Check tickets will be passed out at the gate for all patrons who leave within the next hour," says the lady on the intercom. Short story long....we spent almost all afternoon splashing about and having a good time only to get a free ticket an hour and a half before the park closed. Oh, WRC, we'll be back.
